The iPad Air 5th gen would be enough, especially if you’re just planning on taking notes on it. It also has support for the Apple Pencil 2 (not pro) which charges much more conveniently (than the usbc Apple Pencil) via magnet on the iPad.

There’s certified refurbished iPads on the apple website. Any of them would honestly do you good but if it’s quality you want I’d look for anything above the M1. In my opinion the iPad Air 5th gen is the best and since it’s older it’s significantly cheaper. Just make sure you get enough storage. Lea

Would you recommend getting the M1 iPad Air today? It is $379 today. I want to upgrade my iPad Pro 2017 that no longer updates, and the M1 Air seems like the perfect value today!

It’s M1 iPad Air (5th generation). One quick trick I use to differentiate between some iPad and iPhone models and generations is colors except for black, white or grey and even those may differ slightly. iPad comes in bright colors and iPad Airs comes in slightly muted ones, 6th gen is even fainter

I've been daily-driving the iPad Air 5th generation since I started in 2023. Apple Pencil 2, logitech combo touch keyboard. Never had any problems. I use it for note-taking, drawing, web browsing and sometimes writing as well, but I'll always finish writing a paper on my main computer just because f

I just switched to using an iPad back in January. Second-hand iPad Air 5th Gen (10.9") from eBay for $400. Going one generation older dropped the cost significantly. Comparison of models link. You don't want 3rd Gen or earlier because those lose bezel space to having a physical button at the bottom.

Yeah they recently changed the naming scheme since the iPad Air M2, the M1 was actually called the iPad Air 5th Generation. The new names with the M chips are a lot easier to follow though.

For gaming in general, any iPad running an M1 chip or newer is recommended. This includes the iPad Pro 11" (3rd generation), iPad Pro 12.9" (5th generation), or iPad Air (5th generation). If you want to be more future-proofed, go for something with an M3 or newer, like the iPad Air 7th generation. T

Perfect. The iPad Air 5th Generation is a powerhouse. Perfect for your needs, for drawing, purchase an Apple Pencil 2. With an M1 chip and 8 GB of RAM, it will be supported with software for years to come. Its battery life is very good, lasting a whole day.

The cheapest iPad on Apple’s site (11th gen), which is $349 (you can use the education discount to get it for $329), is more than enough then. You can go down to the 10th generation iPad, iPad Air 5 (the M1 iPad Air), or an iPad Pro 11 inch 3rd gen/iPad Pro 12.9 inch 5th gen (the iPad pros with the
