How would you spend your USD 1,100 if you were a student (Mac a18 pro + iPad a16 or Macbook Air M5)?

Yeah, for iPad I think the iPad Air 5 is great because it’s more than enough power and has same or more ram then everything up until the new m4 air. And while the prices have gone up with ram crisis, I love the M1 Pro 14” with 32GB that I got for $650. The main thing I could ask for in addition woul

Ipad Air 5th gen or Ipad A16?

The Air 5. Nicer screen and M1. The M series chips are the future, I think. More and more features are available only to the M chips. (Unless you’re a clumsy fruit and have a habit of dropping iPads, in which case the A16 iPad has a much cheaper to replace screen.)

Does anyone have an iPad Air 3 in 2025?

Well it is 6 years old and unsupported from new updates so I would steer clear. I would also avoid the 4th gen air as well as it is 5 years old and i anticipate it getting dropped from software support in under a year. An air 5 with the m1 processor is basically as old as id go at this point. You wo

I'm buying a new iPad since my old iPad 7's Motherboard Failed after a good 6 years. What to pick?

honestly for longevity the Air 5 is your move. i ran into this same thing last year and the M1 chip still crushes games and editing without breaking a sweat. the battery thing is real but you can grab a mophie power bank for when it drops below 80. the iPad 11 feels newer but that 6GB ram will age f

People who bought 60hz screen ipad (base/air) for drawing/note taking, do you regret it?

I bought the iPad Air 5 (the M1 Air) with 256 GB to take notes or do homework for engineering school. Maybe the 120 hz display would make a difference in writing or drawing fast, but I find 60 hz a relatively smooth experience overall, despite having a 120 hz iPhone at all times. I got the iPad Air

Is it worth it

Yes, an iPad Air (M1 or above) with 256+ GB of storage is well worth it. Source: I have a 256 GB iPad Air 5th gen from early 2024 and it still feels like a beast. It’ll last me 3 more semesters until I graduate!

iPad Megathread

Hi everyone, I know there are so many posts on these topics and I've done a lot of research, but I'd be grateful for your opinions to help me decide which model is best to buy as my first iPad. I often see comparisons between the A16 and Air 5 M3, but rarely between the A16 and older Air models. Fac

Ipad air 5 or Ipad 11th gen (cons)

I can’t speak for the M1 Air specifically but I can say I have an M2 Pro and against my wife’s 11th Gen my iPad feels so much better. If you’re not doing side-by-side comparisons then for your use either will be great though. With my wife’s 11th Gen it really is a nice device, but my Pro is 3 years

Ipad air 5 or Ipad 11th gen (cons)

i was in the exact same spot last year choosing for school. went with the Air 5 for the laminated screen - reading textbooks all day without that air gap made a huge difference. the m1 chip means it'll handle ios updates for years too. battery's been solid for me even with the m1. whatever you pick,
