My new iPad Air M3 can handle more than 100 layers in 4k drawing on Procreate but it heats up and starts to lag when I try to write a paragraph in default Notes/Journal apps
have to get Goodnotes/Notability with your iPad because how bad optimized default Notes app is To be fair, GoodNotes has horrible input lag when writing to the point that I find it basically unusable. And that's on a 2025 iPad Air with an M3 processor, their writing engine is just that old. Notabili

Ipad or macbook ?
a laptop is always better than a tablet. if you already have a good laptop go for it ipad, if not go for macbook air m3 and above. an iphone and a macbook will complete your apple ecosystem.

Planning buy Ipad Air. Confused between M3 and M4
No , all m1 , m2 and m3 iPad Air have maximum 8 GB , you are thinking about iPad Pro m4 , 8GB on 256GB & 512GB , 16 GB on 1tb or 2 tb devices, M5 iPad Pro 12GB & 16GB 1tb & 2 tb devices, M4 iPad Air 11” & 13” 12GB , no matter the disc space . I have followed release cycle on iPad Air for a while hop

Got the base iPad 11th Gen over M3/M4 Air. Don’t regret it any bit.
I used the 7th gen iPad for six years as a professional. I don't regret it at all. Same OS (until OS 26, and I upgraded to an Air last year) and same apps. The screen works, the Apple Pencil works, it was NO hardship. I don't care about a fancy screen, just functionality. And it functioned just fine

Should I replace my iPad Pro 2020 with an iPad Air 2026?

What to do on iPad?
I recently bought an iPad Air m3 13 inch, and when I first bought it, the experience of watching YouTube, Netflix, and some light gaming, but after a while, I started to think that having a 13 inch tablet is not really a tablet anymore, it is not very portable, pairing it with a keyboard makes it ki

Ipad 11 or 12
next ipad base model likely lands fall 2026 with a17 or a18 chip. if you need one now for school, the a16 is fine and cheaper. the air m3 is noticeably faster but only worth the +24k if you edit video, run multiple apps side by side, or want the better screen. what i'd do - grab the ipad a16 refurbi

Is it worth upgrading?
Why upgrade to Air? Aim for Pro M5 instead. Upgrade from A16 to Air M3/M4 is such a waste, you're just making your iPad thinner and a bit faster, but doesn't improve your experience drastically.

Where is the keyboard?
Just tried (also have the air M3 with iOS 26) When I try and enter touch ID setup ... No on screen keyboard. (But no problem for normal login) Took a picture ... But can't attach to the post. So good thing is that your not alone (so hopefully apple will find out) ... Bad thing is it's not working. P

studying~
Yeah. Even with the magic keyboard trackpad, the iPadOS still feels a little anemic considering what the hardware is capable of. My iPad Air M3 is way more powerful than what the OS will allow me to fully take advantage of.
