No, you can take notes perfectly well on an A16 iPad. I did for many years. Now I have the Air and realistically it's about the same. I never noticed the non-laminated screen unless I was specifically looking for the air gap. I did once. OK, it's there, no big deal. Same OS, same apps. Not worth the
