Apple Home, Dirigera, and Matter: A Solution (?)

Hey. I had the same issue: until I stopped messing with the ikea hub and app. Just pair in HomeKit. Don’t worry about the ikea software or hub at all. It caused way more issues than it’s worth. A simple HomePod mini or two or an Apple TV 4K is all ya need.

What smart home setup do you actually rely on daily?

Many people buy an Apple HomePod Mini, plug it in, and don't even realize they've just installed a Thread Border Router. It really can be that easy. On the other hand, some people buy a Thread device, don't understand that it needs to be routed through a ZigBee-like mesh, and expect a battery-powere

August Wi-Fi lock works, but not very well

I put a HomePod mini close to it (4 feet) and it works like a charm

Switching from Alexa

Different person here, can’t really answer your first question but in my experience the Apple TV was actually a bigger change than the HomePod (in a good way). I was used to using built-in functionality of Samsung/LG TVs, Fire Sticks, etc., and Apple TV blows them out of the water. It’s just faster,

Bluetooth speakers basically killed dedicated home audio setups for normal people

Or you just upgrade to something like an HomePod mini. Gets rid of that problem.

Does anyone else not care about the algorithm

I think it’s great. We come home from work, and speak “Hey Siri. Play us some music.” The Home Pod Mini just starts playing; when then add to the apartment’s two other Minis. More often than not, it puts together a great mix. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked Siri to favorite a song.

Crazy issue with Homepod Mini Stereo Pair playing songs randomly AND at RANDOM VOLUMES (Loud Volume Spikes Suddenly/Out of Nowhere!!)

It was pretty easy, took about 15-20mins. I used iFixit's guide: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/HomePod+Mini+Disassembly/139584 Just be careful with any attached cables and take your time. The hardest part is probably gathering the fabric cover back together at the bottom so it looks like it did befor

Apple showing off the HomePod in today’s episode of your friends and neighbors

Honestly my HomePod mini pair as stereo , not default for Apple TV 4K hub , but it worked perfectly for last few yrs but I moved to a high-ref interference area , update has it going wonky. I went tweaked on Asus router config. ( rog rapture ax6000 settings). my ADD just f*d me , and ocd like attn t
