I can’t edit the post. I bought these in 2012 from Pottermore when they were sold DRM free. They were side loaded (or rather “send to kindle”) on to my colorsoft. I don’t buy books from Amazon, but I do love their devices. I get my books from other vendors and just transfer them to the device. The f

I had the opposite. I bought a tablet thinking that it would be better and that I could get more from it than just an e-reader a couple of years ago and ended up never using it and instead using my phone to read, which had it's own problems. Or just the traditional books... The tablet was one of the

I don’t like being sold to in everything I do, I don’t like having ads bombard me in something as personal as my books. Even though I paid to have ads removed on my old kindle, the home page is still 99% dedicated to trying to get me to buy books instead of reading what I already have. It’s so inper

They work pretty well. I traded in my 2012 kindle fire towards a colorsoft earlier this year. I wasn’t using it often, mostly just for comics and graphic novels, since I had another ereader but it functioned normally (just shorter battery life).

I switched from Kindle to kobo because Amazon discontinued the oasis and I could use libby with kobo (kindle doesn't support Canadian libraries). It turned out to be so much better for me, because now I stopped being influenced by kindle ads (kobo has no ads) to buy books I'll probably never buy, an

Ive been pretty fixated on the KLC, I just think its so cool you can annotate directy on books and highlight in color, but I am trying to really consider how i will interact with ebooks on a regular basis. I am a bit worried about the battery life and screen quality/natural brightness and ability to

I bought the Basic 11th on October and it's the best thing I've ever bought on my entire life. It's also my first e-reader and let me tell you this: if you want to take it with you wherever you go, and actually want to just read and don't even bother with everything else, just buy this version. It's

Sorry, I see now that my hopefulness led me to misinterpret that thread. I do want the color cover displayed (and illuminated) after waking. I've been reading up on KOReader. I have no experience with it. It's definitely interesting, I understand the mindset behind it, and appreciate the community a

Thanks. I got the above reply in another forum, and just want to verify. Returning my Colorsoft for a KLC is no big deal, but I'm not sure I want to go the KOReader route. I'm getting old, and I find the tinkering required more of a hassle than benefit at times. I just want to read. It's the only re

What would the perks be of having a native reading app? I’ve imported a ton of books in the form of pdf’s and the performance is comparable to my Kindle Colorsoft?
