What’s the biggest change happening right now that no one is talking about?
Eh, this change is a bit of a double edged sword. Yes it's easier for amateur authors to find an audience, but it's also easier for people to churn out absolute slop. Kindle Unlimited for example is absolutely full of the literary equivalent of Nintendo eshop Shovelware, including actual "completely

$20 more for an ad-free Kindle….
I don't know what kinda size this kindle is but I highlyyy recommed a kobo, just as a product generally since it supports sideloading and also as a way to stop giving money to amazon. The cheapest kobo is much cheaper than this kindle, but again I don't know what the size difference is so maybe they

There’s no way to stop the firmware updates on older kindles - and once the update happens, you can’t remove DRM
Jokes on amazon here, eventually. As they try to tighten their grip, they’ll continue to lose customers. Probably a drop in the bucket (or rain forest if I’m going for a good pun), but I’ll never buy a kindle book again. And whenever it comes time to get a new er-eader, sure as hell it won’t be an a

Amazon to end support for older Kindles, prompting user outcry
I can't stand Bezos anymore and I try to boycott Amazon whenever possible. I gave up my Kindle and bought a Kobo Clara and buy epub books from Kobo store or 3rd party ebook vendors. Upload is really just copy and paste into the Clara. So far I haven't missed my Kindle once and can only recommend the

Kindle 4 PC going away?
Calibre isn't going anywhere, I haven't had to touch the Amazon ecosystem in years. Ideally I recommend nobody buys a Kindle, but for those of us who already have one, it's easy to detach yourself from Amazon and keep using your device

Kobo v kindle
Which kobos or kindles are you looking at? Kobo clara bw isn't much expensive than the kindle basic and it's also waterproof and has warm light which the basic doesn't have, so you're getting extra features. Kobo Libra Colour is cheaper than the kindle colorsoft and it has buttons which are absent i

Kindle to Kobo?
I switched from Kindle to kobo and prefer kobo. It has a better UI, no ads anywhere, and overdrive integration. I downloaded all my kindle books before Amazon got rid of the download feature, so they were easy to de-drm with Calibre. I'd advise that, even if you stay with kindle, you download and ba

Kobo v kindle
Kindle is easily accessible but it’s not the best in the market IN MY OPINION. But like other ereaders it has pros and cons. Pros: devices are well built and feel premium (except the colorsoft which has constant manufacturing errors), the basic is cheap, it’s easier to customize etc. Cons: DRM drama

Kindle or Kobo?
Warm light is a must for me so kobo clara is my go to and i love it Also if im correct, Kobo clara is waterproof while kindle basic is not For the price, Kobo does offer so much more than what Kindle offer for their basic Huge plus, kobo UI is the best, u can use libby outside US

Best e-reader for someone new to them?
I just bought a kobo Clara BW because of Amazon discontinuing support for my kindle 4 that I've had since 2011. The main reasons I chose kobo over kindle this time: ability to access library books via Libby/Overdrive (not available on kindle in the UK) no ads on kobo (Amazon charges extra for this.
