iPad for tabletop navigator?

Cheapest way - Amazon Fire tablet (8" is a reasonable price), enable the real Google Play store vs the stupid Amazon Fire store...which you can easily do, then put the C4 app on it, and the "Fully Single App Kiosk" app. It'll be locked in as a C4 only android device. The Fire 8 tablet is $99 and usu

The Best Tablets

Tablets aren’t just “big phones” anymore. I’ve found them to be surprisingly versatile, perfect for streaming Netflix in bed, catching up on emails at the cafe, or sketching out ideas when I don’t feel like pulling out a laptop. The right one can pretty much replace multiple gadgets if you pick care

Why I sold my Tab S3 and got a Fire HD 8

Obviously I know the Tab S3 is worth a lot more than the Fire HD 8, but I made a conscious choice to sell the former and get the latter. Several reasons for that:

  1. As has been noted numerous times, there is a shrinking list of things that a tablet can do that you can't do with your other devices. I

CarPlay on a Amazon Fire Tablet - under £100!

After contemplating for a while whether to remove my stereo in my car and replace it with a third party CarPlay compatible stereo, I’ve decided against it. First of all, CarPlay compatible headunits are expensive and even though I have a Masters in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

Are NEW Fire 7 tablets coming anytime soon?

I've searched the net a lot over the past couple of months, and have searched r/kindlefire every few days, but can't seem to find any answers -- will Amazon refresh the Fire 7 this year or next? I have a Fire HD 8 and while it's a great tab, I'd prefer the size of the Fire 7 for streaming/reading...

Choosing an ereader/tablet for my mom?

I have both a Kindle Paperwhite and an Amazon Fire HD 8. If you want easy go with the fire. It’s way cheaper than an iPad. You can download the Libby app to it, unlike the kindle. It’s a bit bigger than the kindle, but it’s still light weight. It’s easy to adjust the settings for brightness and font

pdf note taking on amazon fire tablet

If you don't have a fire tablet that has its own custom stylus try this one. It uses USB- V charging and doesn't require Bluetooth. Instead of a rubber tip, the tip on this one is metal. It works like a dream on my Fire HD 8 (2024). It also works on my phone, and an older iPad, no software needed. I

Fire HD 8 as CCTV Monitor

I have a Fire HD 8 (12th gen) that I use as a quick CCTV Monitor by the door. It works great and it is always on.

However after a few hours, the video starts to lag behind. Eventually, it could be 5-10 seconds behind. To fix this, all I have to do is to close the CCTV app (ReoLink) and reopen it.
