What is the best addition you made to your WFH situation that wasn't for actual work?
I bought a Fire HD 8-inch tablet and a DAC. I side-loaded UAPP (USB Audio Player Pro) onto the tablet and connected the output to my receiver. Now I have all of the music, especially the 24/96 FLAC files on my Synology NAS available (via DLNA) on a decent sized screen for me to play, it is completel

What’s everyone favorite fire tablet model?
For the record, I own many fire devices including kindle fire HDX, Fire MAX, few fire HD 8 and regular kindles.
The best part I like about it is the price. The FIRE MAX and FIRE HDX are the only two that feels premium to me. This is coming from a guy who owns a lot of iOS devices.

Is Amazon methodically wrecking Google Apps?
Now Google Docs, Sheets, and Keep are all crashing when opened up. They haven't wrecked Chrome yet but I expect that may be coming. I already had to find 2 other Clients for Gmail and Calendar. They are making this tablet far less useful to me as time goes on. It is the current Fire HD 8 tablet.

What happened to all my books? had been reading on my kindle with Calibre for ~ 3 or 4 years, suddelny my entire collection is gone (except what was purchased through kindle)
Few things. Fire HD 8 is not a kindle. So your title is wrong. Secondly yes it is a black and white e ink screen. I was simply providing what I did to get out of the Amazon echo system. Lastly amazon devices have been having issues with side loaded ebooks. This is a known issue. Head over to mobile

A guide on Protecting Your Eyes while watching cartoons to get to sleep
My bedtime bredren, we Futurama sleepers must be careful to protect our eyes when we watch in the dark, and so I have written out a guide on how to do so. Some technical know-how is required, but you can bumble your way through it, and the payoff is worth it.
To avoid wrecking your eyes, ideally y

Cheap alternative to iPad mini6-7
As the title states, I have a cheap alternative for the iPad mini to work with a Backbone… It’s an Amazon fire HD 8… it runs well… You just have to do some minor tweaking to the software of the fire by installing the Google play store, it took me about 10 minutes to get it running on Nvidia GeForce

Developing the ideal eye-friendly phone - need input please!
The matte solution needs to be not to perfect. Sounds weird but many manufacturers try to get impressive numbers on paper "99.9 percent glare free", but the result is a grainy, uneven screen making reading uncomfortable (for example the TCL nxtpaper devices). I think a very fine matte layer or anti-

Kids Fire HD 8 (12th Gen) closes apps opened from RocketApps
This just started a few days ago on one of my Kids Fire tablets. Basically any app I open in RocketApps including the standard "Settings" app closes after 30-45 seconds. I've tried uninstalling apps, rebooting, even resetting the tablet to factory settings and reinstalling everything. I haven't e
