I swap around between my AKG K702 and audio technica ATH-M50x. Both excellent reference Headphones in my opinion. I prefer the K702s a bit when working on precise high end stuff, but I think that's due to me having used it for over 10 years now. You'll never go wrong with either of the Beyerdynamic

Beyerdynamic dt990 pro + soundblaster g6 sounds muffled
I've a G6 and DT 990 pro x and AKG K702. The AKG is much...I dont know the word in English. Harsher, clearer, more metallic, more highs. Sometimes even too much. The dt 990 pro x sounds different.. maybe like you say, more muffled. But, if you really listen you hear more, again, I'm missing vocabula
