best speakers for DJing and producing

I’ve got the Adam Audio T8V’s and they are great for mixing and dabbling in production. If you have a small room the T5V’s might do, but I love drum and bass so the 8’s forgo the need for a sub. I’ve had to treat the corners of my room though as my room is on the small side.

Judge my Setup, what can be improved?

Speakers i currently own: Adam Audio A8H Adam Audio T8V Edifier S3000pro Triangle comète 40th anniversary Edition Wharfedale Super Linton I used them as main monitors in my old desk Setup. 2.1 Speakers for PC (~1000€)

As far as I can tell, your old system (specifications) claimed that the speakers (3-inch; 87dB/W/m; ~130Hz@-3dB) each delivered 62W and the subwoofer (10-inch; 88dB/W/m; 35Hz@-3dB) delivered 188W, thereby covering a frequency range down to 33Hz@-6dB. However, a weakness in the system was that there

Good enough?

I’m 34 and I’m happy with my systems. The one I have on the tv are Polk R200 bookshelf speakers and XT12 sub on a Yamaha RX-A4A receiver and it’s fantastic to listen to all music. It gets louder than I can play it, but even at respectful neighbor volumes it fills the space and it’s a physical experi

Monitors vs. Live Sound?

I would stay more in the studio monitor lane. Something with an 8” woofer like the Yamaha HS8 with the sub or Adam Audio T8V. OR if you want to go the PA route, you could potentially pick up a used Bose L1 for under 1k. I would stay away from a point source in a small room, the column arrays tend to

Looking for an at home audio system for music/ movies

There is a wide range of powered and active speakers that might suit but tke somethings into account. For DJ you need phono stage pre-amps in the turntable, the amplifier or powered speakers. Many DSP active streaming speakers have poor latency and are not suitable for DJ or gaming. Analogue active

Kef LSX II LT or Coda W

Adams Audio pure analogue inputs on the T5V, T7V, T8V and other ranges. Near field detailed speakers with the larger models having more bass and none of the budget spent on DACs, digital, HDMI or streaming services which might all need replacing in 5 or 10 years time.
