You are going to be switching dorms every 3 to 6 months. I would rather get a 14" touchscreen equipped gaming laptop to support my entertainment needs. A big ass monitor, keyboard and monitor makes it easier to swap around. Then there's life onboard a ship or submarine. Can't exactly haul a desktop

using a dGPU alongside an X7/X9 Panther Lake would be pretty suspect (itd be almost as weird as the Acer Predator Triton 14 shoving a 5070 alongside Lunar Lake) A 5050/5060/5070 needs 8 PCIE 5.0 lanes, but the X7/X9 only got 4 of them

Having used soldered 16GB of RAM for school and gaming, it’s awful. I constantly multitask on my computer and if I have chrome open, MATLAB, and whatever IDE I’m using, it lags and freezes like crazy since the RAM reaches 100% usage. It’s even worse if you game. Get an Acer Predator Triton 14 or a ROG Zephyrus G14 instead.

It depends on which gaming laptop we're talking about; personally I really like the thin & light gaming laptops, stuff like: HP Omen Transcend 14 Acer Predator Triton 14 Asus Zephyrus G14/G16 Lenovo Legion 7 PS - the ProArt P16 is just a black Zephyrus G16 with AMD instead of Intel😉

EBay is the best option to find flow x16s. In the last couple weeks there were a ton of 4070 flow x16s, not any right now though. U can try to find one on r/hardwareswap, that’s where I got mine. I regret not buying the top end 2023 outright too, thought id wait, now that I want a PC I cannot find any alternative at all. Except the Acer Predator Triton 14 but it's not really the same.

I'm not sure about the build quality of that Acer machine, I've seen some other in shops I would say only the Predator Triton 14 Al is similar in terms of build quality to the g14 and razer for swift x 14 I've seen the last model and it's just normally built I'm not sure about this year's model cuz

My friend has a Zenbook 14 with the 288V and he says it likes to boil itself. I'd wager the only laptop that handles one properly is the Acer Predator Triton
