Steam Controller Priced at $149 CAD

Sorry if this the wrong sub to ask this question, but why even buy the Steam controller if you aren't going to use the touch pads? For me that's the selling point, but if I didn't need the touch pads I would just stick to an 8bitdo ultimate 2, way more affordable and plenty of paddles/buttons.

Steam Controller review slips embargo, controller to cost $99

I went back to a post i saw about the controller bein $100 or more, and most of the comments were basically saying "first party controllers are usually overpriced, valve won't price their controller like that, that's why it'll be cheaper" with a lot of people suggesting it'll be $50 to $60. Considering getting a controller to use with Steam games. What are the pros and cons of the various types?

8BitDo makes a super solid controller for an unbeatable price. I have am Ultimate 2C and while I tend to prefer KBM in most games, it works fantastically for games that really need a controller. It's a major upgrade from the old 360 controller I was using. Biggest selling point for me was the price.

Old man needs help

if you need a controller, an 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless can often be found for ~$20 and does the same thing for casual use

First impressions of ultimate 2: wuchang

I’ve never really used a controller before, but I’m very surprised by the quality of this one, especially considering its affordable price. The only issue I’m facing is that my hands are on the bigger side, which makes them feel a little tired after hours of gaming but I sorely only play a few games

It’s true, the snapback is definitely worse on the Switch 2 pro controller…

Just use one of the many, far cheaper, far more feature rich alternative options. 8bitdo ultimate 2, gamesir cyclone, etc. Competition has improved drastically since the switch 1 pro controller came out.
