Would you guys recommend these official infrared sega genesis controllers?
As with any IR gamepad, they really only work if you have a clear line of sight between the receiver and the controllers themselves. Personally I find them an interesting curio but if I wanted to play wirelessly, I'd just grab and 8bitdo M30 and a bluetooth adapter (either 8bitdo's or a blue retro,

Best way to play NES, SNES and Genesis games (without collecting them all again)
Look at the everdrives, you basically want the most expensive ones for the consoles you're looking for to get. controllers? between the 8bitdo m30 and the ps4 or ps5 controller, those are going to be the best bluetooth controllers, and really the best controllers outside of OEM. Connecting your cons

Time for some controller testing
The 8Bitdo M30 is the best, but make sure to not use the Bluetooth version. Use the Genesis version and either use it wired over USB for 1 millisecond input lag or use the wireless Genesis version with a Daemonbite Genesis to USB converter for its wireless dongle for 4 milliseconds input lag. 4ms fo

Controllers for mister setup
Personally I use:-4x 8bitdo M30 (6 button Genesis/Saturn games + arcade fighters and if they were 8 button instead of 6 I just map the shoulders)-4x 8bitdo ultimate 2c (everything else)-2x RS3 Lightguns-1x Fightbox R10 Pro (Spinner and Trackball controller) And I'm looking into maybe getting a racin

8BitDo M30 Wireless Controller vs. Retro-Bit Wireless Contoller
I'm using the 8bitdo M30 on my saturn. It's really comfortable. As for dongle, i was previously using the one by blueretro but i swapped to the 8bitdo one and it's much easier to pair and use.

6 button pad
8bitdo M30 controller design is the best for games that don’t need analog sticks, which covers most 8-bit and 16-bit games, as well as many 32-bit games. It comes in two variants: Genesis wireless dongle version and Bluetooth version. Both variants can be wired using USB for low lag, but only the Ge

Controllers for mister setup
I really like the wired 8Bitdo M30 for Xbox. Possibly my favorite controller. I have a wired 8Bitdo SN30, it feels okay, but I find it harder to pull off walljumps and other technical maneuvers in Super Metroid when I use it. The buttons feel quite tactile yet mushy at the same time, if that makes s

Any decent third party 3D controller?
8bitdo m30 wireless controller is excellent. You need to buy the Saturn wireless dongle separately though. The retrobit controllers are decent clones as well. As far as original 3rd party controllers from the 90s? They all suck. There was really just one major one, and it was abysmal.

Controllers for mister setup
I think going with Bluetooth somewhat kills what is so great about the MiSTer: Low input latency. There are exceptions (the DualSense controller iirc) but usually this is the way to go: Wired > 2.4G > BT My currently go to controllers are: 8Bitdo M30 2.4G (perfect for all SEGA consoles, NES, GB(C/A)
