M30 Wired Controller

8bitdo M30 xbox edition is worth the extra ten bucks. even a Saturn controller would be somewhat better than Genesis. Genesis is a great pad but it has no shoulder buttons.

Are you playing Classic or Modern? I recommend Classic. The regular Xbox controller is fine as long as it's wired. Some FGC pros use it. I personally think the dpad is great for fighting games. Depends how long is "a bit" if its less than 100-150 hours I would say to keep going and see if your consistency improves however if you are new to fighting games and are familiar with playing on keyboard you could try a leverless aswell (or a keyboard you already have on PC).
