What type of studio monitors or speakers should I buy for casual listening?

I would like to listen to the truest artist intended way but also would like to casually get into techno music production. So which speakers should I buy? Whichever you like. You can use a speaker with a colored sound (e.g. elevated treble) for music production, as long as you understand what colora

Iloud MTM or Genelec 8010 for 7.1.4

The Genelec 8010 is a pretty thin sounding monitor. Even with room correction bumping up the low end I don’t quite think they’ll be super pleasing without significant support from a sub. The iLouds on the other end have no problem getting down to below 40hz, again especially with corrective software

Studio Monitor Suggestions?

iLoud MTM MKIIs for a medium sized room, or the iLoud Micro Monitor Pros for a smaller room. I started with the Micro Monitors, and upgraded to the MTMs last year because of GAS, but I don’t regret it. They sound great out of the box, and can be further calibrated to your room using the included ARC

Blind Test of Behringer ADA8200 vs Neve 1073 opx

I listened to the whole thing and could not hear a single goddamn difference. I listened to it with my phone screen off through AirPods Pro 2s. Music technology is so good these days. Update: Listened to this through my RME Fireface UCX II and IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKIIs, calibrated with X-Monitor

Monitor Help..

Look at IK Multimedia's iLoud series. Highly underrated. These are their MTM MKIIs, but their micro monitor pros are excellent too: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/iloudmtm/?pkey=iloud-mtm-mk2-black-pair

Recommendations on portable monitors.

ILoud MTM are fantastic. Not the basic iLouds, but the MTM, either version. Insanely detailed and clear, shocking amount of clean bass and volume for the size. And they have a built in calibration system to tune to whatever room youre in

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

This is not a meaningful comparison. The Genelecs’ build quality is much better, with an enclosure made from aluminum and a high resale value even after years. But the 8010 model is designed as a size marvel first, sacrificing low end extension and SPL. The iLoud MTM can play much louder and lower a

Quality compact studio monitors(3~4 inch) as replacement for budget 5 inch monitors

iLoud MTM is really good. It's flat down to 40hz.

Help with buying studio monitors?

For an untreated room, go with monitors that can be calibrated. I am happy with my iLoud MTM Mk2 in a room where a pair of Yamaha HS5 I had before sounded awful.
