Alpha 7C II

I use a Sony A7cii clipped to my pack strap. It’s been drenched, banged against rock, dropped, completely rimed over in an inch of ice, covered in volcanic ash, left overnight at well below freezing, and it’s still going strong. Pretty light for the quality you get too.

Yea the OM-3 Af is significantly better in my narrow tests so far. My last camera was a Sony A7C II so I’m a bit spoiled on that front. I do remember being pretty frustrated with my Fuji AF especially on video. This may be the number one contributing factor to keep the OM-3 if I do.

I have both the a7c2 and an x100vi and used to own a x100v. I find the difference between the x100’s to be minimal but meaningful. IBIS has changed the kind of shots I’m able to take. That said, the a7c2 is a phenomenal compact camera, and I would advise you to keep the x100v and upgrade your Sony.

All modern day cameras including the ones you've looked at will give you amazing image quality only to be limited by your skill level. Add Sony A7CII and Nikon Zf to your list as full frame options and pic the one that speaks to you more. Good luck and just go out and shoot.

They're not the same size, the A7C II has a proper grip vs the S9 having none, plus the EVF protrudes a fair bit. I think that is their best bet though if they're open to a departure from the current design. Add a similar shape grip and shift the battery and card slot into it, free up a little more

A good note on size: I have this little TomToc (4l) sling that I carry with me everywhere. With the A7C II and the 40mm 2.5g (which is a tiny lens in FF terms), it wouldn’t fit like this. I use my camera almost exclusively for family life. 10 bit video, reliable human tracking and good stabilization are the main things to look for in a hybrid dad cam. I wouldn’t recommend an OM-5 or GX9 for your use, because they both lack 2 out of the 3 things I mentioned above. I’ve owned an E-M10
