While it has less overall volume than a GX9, it's not very well packaged, so the G100D max height and depth is larger than on the GX9. The GX9 is also only 38 grams heavier, less than 10% more, and it has IBIS. The G100 and G100D are essentially the guts of a GX800 (GM1 derived stepper motor shutter

...people are raving about the GM1 and GM5, Nostalgic people rave about things, but if more people had actually bought those cameras Panasonic would have kept making them. > G100D is ...universally reviled for some reason. Because most people don't actually want to buy and use either the GM1, GM5, or G

I'm not a huge fan of the S9 body. It's more of a fashion accessory, and it's not even that small, all things considered (no EVF, no MSHTR - at least it's got IBIS). I would like to see the sensor in a G100 body - with IBIS. Probably not realistic though - both physically and considering how Panason

By default I would tell you to get rid of the 14-42mm and 40-150mm and consolidate them into the excellent Panasonic 14-140mm f3.5-5.6 but you're trying to get money not spend it :P But yes sell the GH4 and the G100. They're both good cameras but u're not making use of them or they're redundant with

The Lumix 20mm f1.7 wasn't made for chasing toddlers (at least, not with autofocus - you'll have to stop down and zone focus). Honestly, neither was the GX9 (go ahead and downvote me, fanboys, but I've had the GX85, G95, G100 and G9 and I've raised two kids so I think I have enough experience here).

This is probably too long a subject for a single comment but I'll try. First, all Lumix m43 cameras except the G9ii and GH7 exclusively rely on an autofocus method called contrast detect autofocus (CDAF). Under the hood, this method adjusts the lens's focus element(s) back and forth as rapidly as po

Given how ridiculously popular G100 and G100D is for Panasonic, I don't think they ever will. I remember on one of their livestreams they were asked why it didn't have IBIS and they responded that the G100 was already their best selling camera. between this and the S9 I don't think they'll ever rele

Not one person here has mentioned shooting with stabilized lenses. Or flash sync speed. Not surprising. Let me help you out. If you tend to shoot primes at slower shutter speeds, you'll benefit a lot from IBIS. If you shoot with stabilized lenses (as many Panasonic lenses are) and/or don't tend to s

I have a G100, it's a great stills camera and a pretty decent hybrid camera for its era and size.... it just kinda suck as a vlogging camera which was Panasonic's great mistake in marketing. Once you put that to one side, it's basically just a lightweight GX9 without IBIS which really isn't a bad pl
