This brand is honestly a total letdown. The quality is absolute garbage. I hope nobody ever buys from you again. You're going to fail sooner or later
Netgear / Orbi is possibly the worst garbage you can find in mesh wifi systems. I had to return an Orbi 870. Never looked back

Do NOT update firmware through the app!!
Would not recommend another Netgear Orbi. I’m buying Ubiquiti next time.Great customer service - hey, your router’s bricked though our firmware update, best we fleece you a second time, here’s 20% off to help dull the pain. They say a fool pays twice! I could not bring myself to buy another Orbi.

I need advice on how I can extend my internet to the newest add on to my house
You need to run ethernet to the add-on, would have been easier to plan it while the walls were open and electrical being run,etc. With that ethernet you can connect a 2nd access point of some sort. Your current router may support linking a 2nd router of the same brand as an additional access point.

I need a recommendation for a new internet router
Eero Pro 7, TP-Link Deco 7 Pro, or Netgear Orbi 870. If you don't mind a little work but a lot of customization would look into unifi.

Agree. NETGEAR orbi has fallen from being reliable to unpredictable and lost my trust. I think my next brand to try is unifi. I just. Need a brand that just works out of the box and don’t say “send it out and we will fix with updates.” While we suffer and pray the next update will improve my network

Broke up with Orbi, couldnt be any happier.....
I had an Orbi system for years. It worked ok. Last week I got a notice from Netgear that they were sunsetting my system and would no longer offer any support. I checked on a new Orbi or Netgear system and their pricing is crazy. There's no way I'd spend that kind of money. I bought a TP-Link system
