is dji osmo 360 that bad?
I've had the insta360 X2, X4, X5 and the DJI 360. And I'll choose the DJI every time. The insta360 software is better (especially on Android), but I edit in DaVinci Resolve anyway so that's the less important part for me. But their cameras are really bloated and the lower image quality is more notic

[MEGATHREAD] Insta360 → iPhone export timestamp bug: years-old, officially acknowledged, still not fixed. Let’s consolidate here.
UPDATE - 26 July — I went digging through this sub's archives and Insta360's own official forums. This bug is at least seven years old, and Insta360 has been sending the same response since 2019. Below is the documented timeline. Most Reddit threads are now archived and locked, which is part of how

Monthly Megathread: Ask Here for Help - August, 2026
August monthly thread. Same request as May, June, and July: the export timestamp bug. Quick recap for anyone new: every photo or flat video exported from the Insta360 app to your phone's camera roll gets stamped with today's date instead of the actual capture date. Documented reports go back to 2019

Body worn camera for sightseeing
Considering you are ok with lower resolution, may I suggest you get a used 360 camera like an Insta360 x2/x3, etc? Get a large enough memory card, a backpack or shoulder strap mount and run a cable to a power bank. Perfect walk around camera. Footage is stable and you never need to point it at anyth

Is a subscription needed?
A subscription is not needed to access the footage. For your use I would recommend a quick reader that would allow you to transfer the data from the sd card in your camera to your phone. From there you can edit / reframe it using the free Insta360 app. That being said, I don’t think an X2, or a 360

Insta360 X6 is more like Osmo360 with less buttons and 8k50
I have the 1” Insta360 thinking it’ll be a nice upgrade over my X2. Boy was I disappointed. Yes low light was better but it has softer focus, more motion blur. But the thing which kept me from using it more was the weight. It was really heavy to hold at the end of a stick all day

Action camera options
I have an insta360 one x2. It’s fun and gets some cool shots, but I don’t use it very often, just a run here or there, and mostly to snag a frame for a photo. Otherwise you’ll end up with endless gigs of video you won’t watch and no one else wants to see, like someone else said, and I generally thin

I'm seriously considering selling my X5 — and it's not because of the hardware.
350 videos shot on the Insta360? Damn. When I had my first 360 camera (the X2) and I did a hiking trip with some friends. I had a lot of recordings, some long too. In that trip I realized I don't need 15 or 30 min hiking videos (that is for MY personal usage and people might have different needs). I
