What studio monitors do you recommend these days?

u/scottbrio here. I've worked in a lot of studios and listened to a lot of different monitors. In my opinion, the best monitors for an indie producer in an untreated room are the IKMultiMedia iLoud Micro monitors. They're $299 new (cheaper used) and sound incredible. I've checked my mixes and master

Headphone mixing versus room calibration/monitor mixing

Monitors and human hearing are a very subjective thing. I’ve mixed quality work in bad rooms and I’ve struggled with the low end in perfectly treated rooms. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but I’m very impressed with the first gen iLoud micros. To me they’re the new NS10s. They’re ultra

Studio Monitor Suggestions?

iLoud MTM MKIIs for a medium sized room, or the iLoud Micro Monitor Pros for a smaller room. I started with the Micro Monitors, and upgraded to the MTMs last year because of GAS, but I don’t regret it. They sound great out of the box, and can be further calibrated to your room using the included ARC

I'm looking for a portable speaker that is NOT Bluetooth. I've begun traveling for work and most hotel tv speakers are terrible.

When I travel I take a pair of iLoud Micro Monitors with me. I made a post about them on my profile of you want to see how I have it set up. They're surprisingly good and can fill a medium sized living room with bass down to 50hz despite being tiny. Got the carrying case, and a pair of selfie stick

Simple speakers for Crumar Seven

Yes they have to be powered. For something small that sounds good, I like IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitor. You'd need cables that are 1/4" on one side and RCA on the other (or adapters).

E flat sounding off?

Kawai? There is definitely a rattling noise with that note. I actually returned the first keyboard I got because there were like 8 different keys that sounded off. The guy at the music store definitely thought I was crazy. The replacement had 3 keys that sounded off, but were different ones and less

Buying Flat Response Mixing Monitors.

Below 80hz, bass is almost exclusively omnidirectional. So I would want to minimize those lower bass frequencies inside the wardrobe. So I would go for the iloud Micromonitors as they won't put out a lot of lower end bass. But they are front ported (definitely don't want rear ports inside the wardro
