Even though I doubt such a small package can fit something like this, just imagine if this thing turns out to have internal NDs. The RF mount can certainly handle it, as shown on the C70, C80, and C400, which all have internal NDs on the same mount. I recall seeing a patent filing suggesting they we

Ok I have lots of questions as I debate this camera not only for VR but my other works. Currently using a Komodo for most work and r5c for VR. How are you formatting the footage into something usable? What’s the workflow like. I love r3d and hate canon raw but canon vr utility and workflow is good/n

I would say yes. We have a Canon R5C, C50, and two C80's and they are great cameras. I know this sub is pretty "Sony" heavy, but there is nothing wrong with Canon Cinema cameras. Those lenses would be just fine for what you want to do. My advice is, though, to think less about a 3 camera setup and m

There's no IBIS in this camera, or in any of Canon's cinema cameras, including the R5C. For certain shooting scenarios (such as drone work), this is actually a good thing, as it prevents unwanted sensor movement, which can happen even when IBIS is disabled in cameras that have it (other than Nikon,

It was very nice of you to share your story but there's some things that you really should know. First I'm a professional that's been shooting VR for the last 13 years in the media business for 40 and shooting at the R5 and r5c for the last almost 4 years. I tested and rejected the R5 because it ove

I am a working VR professional and you're on the right track it's just a matter of understanding how to use the tools. First of all, what settings did you use on your r5c? Hopefully you shot Canon raw LT 8K at 59.94 frames per second. Canon color science is a little different and you have to get use

Affordable 360º is mostly monoscopic 2D so I'd guess you probably want to record stereoscopic 180º 3D videos, better called "VR180".r/VR180Film has useful info about this format, cameras and some videos. You can also record the old 'flat' 3D format with the quest itself using apps but the better qua

Matching the R5C to the FX3 will cost you significantly more post time than the FS7 option. Canon Cinema Gamut + Canon Log 2/3 is quite different colour science from Sony S-Log3 — skin tones in particular sit in very different places. FS7 vs FX3 is a much more manageable match. Both Sony S-Log3, and
