Because it’s tiring to type passwords again and again And while a good solution is a touch ID magic keyboard , say someone likes mechanical keyboard more ? Some people do tape Touch ID keyboards under their desk to just have touch ID , which from a cost and even a UX perspective isint that good. And

Want to buy a Touch ID keyboard. Can you disable Touch ID on it?
Just buy one without the TouchID and save the money. https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MXCJ3LL/A/magic-keyboard-with-numeric-keypad-us-english

Why no numeric keyboard on 16’’?
I don’t want one. It either means smaller keys for everything else or a wider MacBook. Both not desirable. If you seriously need numeric keys for whatever reasons, you can use an external one. https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MXK83LL/A/magic-keyboard-with-touch-id-and-numeric-keypad-for-mac-models

I had Logitech MX Keys - for about an hour, that's it. What a crap. Plastic, bending, localized character snot burned with laser like Apple does but printed on. Piece of garbage. Now, I had a huge problem to found keyboard made out of aluminium, solid piece without flexing - except for the Apple one

Pros:Touch ID is really great to have to unlock your Mac, Autofill, Apple Pay, etc.Straight forward button layout that's consisten

Need Suggestions for Keyboard to use with Mac Mini ?
I have the Magic Keyboard with TouchID and Numeric Keypad and I absolutely love it (on my Mac mini, M2 Pro). TouchID works great not just with unlocking my Mac and ApplePay but also with apps that support it like 1Password.

Suggest me a keyboard
Microsoft Surface Keyboard or Apple Keyboard https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/tools/compare/microsoft-surface-keyboard-vs-apple-magic-keyboard-with-touch-id-and-numeric-keypad/1773/28306 Perhaps go for the cheaper Surface Keyboard v1 in the review without the Copilot key found on v2.
