Visual Timers: How many minutes of independent, leave me alone time is reasonable for a 2.5-3.5yo?
We do quiet time with his yoto player with our 3yo once a day in his room and he LOVES it. It lasts 1.5 hours, but sometimes I leave him in there for 2 hours because he doesn’t want to come out yet lol. I would recommend a longer period of time (half hour+) where he has special quiet time toys in hi

Real-Life Questions/Chat Week of April 20, 2026
We didn’t buy a Yoto player for this reason, but it inadvertently helped with middle of the night wakes where my daughter (3.5) wanted me to help her get back to sleep. She started turning her Yoto on by herself and I think it’s just comforting/distracting/makes her feel less alone in her room when

My 1 year old doesnt eat without miss Rachel on
My girl was similar in that she wouldn’t let me change her diaper without Ms Rachel and the only thing that would get her to sit and finish her food towards the end of the meals was Ms Rachel. This was after a few weeks of increasing Ms Rachel time because we were all sick with viral infection and I

How To Entertain The Toddler That Doesn't Wanna Be Entertained

She wants to play with it first thing in the morning, it's the only way I can drink my morning coffee in peace lol I just set it up on the deck and let her go at it! I don't even alwa

How many of you are doing road trips? Tips / advice?
We love our Yoto players for this. No pieces of crap toys floating around to step on. Just cards that I manage in a binder. We love the make your own as well to accommodate any special interests. They’ve really helped with car sickness (for two kids who get car sick very quickly and violently).

Sleeping with tv on
I got my daughter a Yoto player before I knew she was autistic and she would just listen to the same music card on repeat. I was glad it was getting used, then when she was diagnosed I thought to myself that if she doesn't understand it, I've wasted a lot of money on story cards but at least she's s

I didn’t realize NFC had become this practical for everyday businesses
I got a Yoto player for my kid which plays audio (music, audiobooks, podcasts, online radio, or any mp3s you can upload online) by inserting a NFC card into a slot. The card just triggers the file that is stored in the box's memory. It's nice because kids can choose and control what they listen to a

Early mornings- what do your kids do?
I also came to recommend the Yoto player. My daughter is 6.5 and loves using it in the mornings. She is also autistic and there is so much content you can really tailor it to any special interests

Books and supports for emotions and emotional regulation
Hattie Harmony Worry Detective (a book) has been helpful in our house for dealing with kiddo feeling anxious. As has the Narwal and Jelly Meditation audio (I cant remember the real name for this). We have a yoto player and the ladybird meditation card has been lovely. Lastly, we love the books Angry
