What toy was worth every penny?

Not really a toy, but Yoto player. She loves stories and books and can listen to the same card for days. Board games, like sneaky snacky squirrel and candy land. Magna tiles are being used regularly. Interactive books. Doll stroller. Otherwise, she isn’t into toys that much although has a lot of the

Looking for Australian interactive story devices/books for toddlers – alternatives to Tonies or Yoto?

I don’t have any recommendations, but if you don’t end up finding anything you can diy your own cards on the Yoto player. We got it because we’re raising our child trilingual so we wanted to be able to record stories, songs etc in the languages were teaching him which the yoto is great for. You can

Best non-generic paint colors for a generic kid's room? We're fostering and want it to feel welcoming, calm, and fun. Various genders, ages, and interests so must be universal, but feel unique.

I'd recommend a yoto player over a toniebox. A yoto is essentially a cd player and can play audiobooks as well as music albums. It also has its own daily radio podcast. A great suggestion.

Which of LAST year’s holiday gifts are your kids still loving?

We got our yoto player two years ago for Christmas. It’s still our most used toy.

Screen-Free Moms: What Actually Keeps Your Kids Busy? Best Toys & Activities?

Magnatiles are always a hit, “helping” me cook (both kids love to peel garlic and tomatillos and it’s actually helpful?), my 2 year old will play at the kitchen sink in her climbing tower for 30+ minutes, playing dress-up (kids’ costumes AND my clothes/heels while I’m getting ready), indoor play kit

Screen free parents/carers - best resources for screen-free activities?

Not so much a resource but let your child be bored sometimes, they don’t need constant stimulation. Boredom brings out creativity. Open ended toys that they can reach independently are good like building blocks, magnatiles, animal figurines like Schleich if they’re older. Baby proof your entire hous

What are you buying your toddlers this Christmas?

I prefer yoto player because I can actually use the dials to find specific songs. It also requires a very hard slap to change songs and Tonies are expensive

This is the greatest toy ever invented.

Other option is a Yoto Player, which is basically the same thing. But yes, they are awesome.

Has reducing screen time actually decreased meltdowns for your toddlers? Looking for real experiences.

TV, even just in the background is wildly overstimulating for young brains. It adds extra visual and/or auditory input on the nervous system and young children have very immature nervous systems so overstimulation can happen super quickly. An overstimulated nervous system is a dysregulated nervous s
