5 & 3 year olds - Isn't bed time supposed to be easier now?
The kids would just stay up longer taking them out, switching to new ones, etc So what? You don't need them to fall asleep at an exact time. We've got Yoto players which have swappable cards which we hang near their bed and we can volume limit it in the app. If they want to swap the cards in and out

I got my son a Yoto player and like 10 cards to go with it and spent maybe $120-150 on all of that and the player itself was like half of that after Black Friday deals.. how many effing cards is $2k?!

There’s similar ones for the Yoto Player lol. I think someone posted the screen shot of someone saying they spent $2k on their Yoto so far? Like how can your kid even have time to listen to that many cards before they age out of them? It’s a weird parenting flex to brag about how much money you wast

Looking for Australian interactive story devices/books for toddlers – alternatives to Tonies or Yoto?
I use the ABC listen app or other audiobooks, Spotify etc. connected to my daughter's headphones. Not independent but also not needing to spend lots on a device. We have just borrowed a yoto player from our local library to try it out and there are some Australian ones you can get. We have Emma Memm

Yoto player vs Tonie
Dude, get the CD player. It’s less portable, but way more fun. And as you mentioned, you can use any old CD. We have a Yoto and I enjoy it. But our kid doesn’t seem to get the appeal. They only play with it when we prompt and I’m really the only one who gets excited about new cards. They don’t use i

Music player
I'm not sure if there's a more "music focused" option but there's the Yoto Player. We use it primarily for audiobooks, but they also have music cards as well. The problem is you're buying the music specifically for the Yoto. You can access it on a phone through the app but it's still a little inconv

Yoto or tonie box?
I have the Tonie 1! For us the tonie was preferred and easier for younger kids so I'd probably go with that one and maybe revisit the yoto player when the kids are older. My newly 3 year old only uses the tonie box unless big brother is already playing music on the yoto. She also uses the tonie ever

MP3 player vs CD player vs Yoto?
I mean maybe I'm a totally reckless parent but my kids just use spotify kids on either the TV or ipad? I prefer them to use the TV app for more supervision and they don't get as sucked in, but the ipad works for travel. This allows them to listen to what they want music, audiobooks etc. Spotify kids

Disappointed again… yoto edition!
I hate my kid's yoto and wish we'd gotten a CD player for her. Cards not getting detected, the awkward and unclear UX of it (buttons do multiple things depending on which of the 4 states the thing is in), the screen, the process of getting cards downloaded and worrying which are and aren't ready for

My favourite raspberry pi project (so far)
I just started looking for a DIY version of a Yoto player. How is this project going? Any help you can share would be greatly appreciated. I can’t bring myself to buy into the Yoto player ecosystem and spend all that money. I would love to know how you accomplished this. TIA.
