Aside from cassette tapes and CDs, what's the best solution to allow my kid to listen to like 10 songs I know he loves that's easy for him to manage and not connected to the internet? He's 5.

Get a Yoto player and then ‘make your own card’ with the songs you want. Then he can play that card. Won’t need the internet

Tonie Box - Do kids actually like it?

Just here to suggest the Yoto player. It’s been a hit from 5-8. My 12 year old likes it too, but the books for her age are limited, so she typically uses Libby or Sora instead.

Which of LAST year’s holiday gifts are your kids still loving?

We got our yoto player two years ago for Christmas. It’s still our most used toy.

Screen-Free Moms: What Actually Keeps Your Kids Busy? Best Toys & Activities?

Magnatiles are always a hit, “helping” me cook (both kids love to peel garlic and tomatillos and it’s actually helpful?), my 2 year old will play at the kitchen sink in her climbing tower for 30+ minutes, playing dress-up (kids’ costumes AND my clothes/heels while I’m getting ready), indoor play kit

What are you buying your toddlers this Christmas?

I prefer yoto player because I can actually use the dials to find specific songs. It also requires a very hard slap to change songs and Tonies are expensive

This is the greatest toy ever invented.

Other option is a Yoto Player, which is basically the same thing. But yes, they are awesome.

Won’t Sleep

I have been in the position of solo parenting and needing to use TV to entertain the older one while putting down the baby. Be consistent with when it’s time to turn off the TV. Do it as soon as you’re done putting down the baby, and don’t give in to whining for more. It will be hard at first, there

Four year old won’t stay in bed

Yoto player solved this issue for us. She just pops in a card, we can set limit volume limits via the app, and she's happy to listen to a calm audiobook or quiet music until she falls asleep. She can change the track or change the card if she wants to. If she wakes up in the night she doesn't come a

Activities to set up a 4 y/o in the morning until my wife wakes up

A yoto player or a tonie box? Not much of an “activity” but provides some stimulation that’s not a TV. For the activities, look up “morning boxes”. Basically it’s a few little things that the kid doesn’t see daily that they can explore on their own. Like dry erase pages, sticker books, puzzles, magn

What are we doing with the six+/- year olds on the weekends?

What I did as a child - watch some cartoons. We just played outside with neighbor kids and it’s chill/relax time. We also have a Yoto player which she loves, so she’ll break that out along with her markers and colored pencils.
