Studio monitors sound thin compared to headphones
Two things; headphones are never going to be as flat as monitors can be and will always have some form of hyped bass, and the monitors you have struggle with what you're trying to do. HS4's only go down to 83hz, so you're missing all the frequencies in the sub range. Secondly, they're a tiny driver,

My Steven Slate VSX experience so far
First I listen on my Yamaha HS8’s. When I first got those monitors, I was blown away by the bass. After this journey, it’s clear to my ears they are near field monitors and only that. It’s also clear I need to treat my room. Since standing wave acoustic interference can create nodes (where lower, re

Studio monitors for synths AND a stage piano
HS8 can go lower in terms of bass. Only a few hz. For most people, it's probably not even worth factoring in. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/yamaha-hs8-studio-monitor-review.71023/ https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/yamaha-hs7-review-studio-monitor

focusrite speakers
Yamaha HS5’s are within budget and a nice sounding set of monitors. If he wants to later on, he could also add the matching Yamaha sub to them for more bass. I use their bigger brothers l, the HS8. Whilst neither the HS8 or HS5 is truly a ‘reference’ speaker (a speaker with a very flat response curv

I'm done with Eve Audio
I had HS7's for a week back in 2019 and returned them in exchange for the 8's (the bigger brother). Needed that extra oomph, but im sure youll get that with the sub by using the HS7's. I've been rocking HS8's for my work setup and I fkn love them. I use them for music production. I tried switching t

What studio monitors do you recommend these days? I’m looking to buy a new pair of studio monitors
Yamaha hs5 or hs8 with the hs8s subwoofer. Sounds so good and clear with as much bass as necessary. Highly recommended. Bass ports at back of speakers so you need some room behind them. Important depending on the side of your room

Home Studio Set Up - Advice
Audio Interface is simply a device that lets you convert Analog audio to Digital audio and vice versa. It takes analog audio in (from a microphone, or line level source) and converts it to digital so your computer can record it in a DAW like Reaper. Then it converts it back - digital audio playback
