[canada] suggestions on air purifier
For a 250 sq ft apartment with two cats, I would put most of the budget into one decent unit for the bedroom/living room first, then treat the bathroom as a small odor-control spot rather than trying to run two weak purifiers everywhere. Look for true HEPA, a real replaceable carbon filter, and a CA

Need help choosing the best for allergies! (Prime Day Sale)
Avoid Tailulu, it's a garbage rebadged brand. Winix 5500-2 for the living room. Winix A230 for your bedroom. Keep in mind: Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs) apply to the highest airflow speed/setting only. Lower settings have lower CADRs. In all likelihood, disabling PlasmaWave (the ionizer) will dec

Are bigger purifiers actually worth it?
What are you currently using? I just bought Winix A230 for my room only. I think doing its work (maybe others can comment on how good this one is for a single room).

Looking for a compact purifier for 20-30sqm sleeping quarters. Use for travel in India, hoping to target 1. BACKGROUND ASBESTOS LEVELS and 2. GENERAL POLLUTION in that order.
I see, Looking at CADR and the like while still preferring the mechanical filters (H13 or such), good compact models appear: 1. Levoit Core 300S / 141 CFM (240 m³/h)2. Coway Airmega 100 / 109 CFM (185 m³/h)3. Winix A231 (A230) / 147 CFM (250 m³/h) Will try to pick one of these.Any hidden drawbacks t

Can indoor allergies make you feel very bad
I’ve had a winix air purifier running 24/7 for 7 years now. They are great. I have a larger rectangular model but you could get the WINIX A230 for just a bedroom. The filter needs to be changed once or twice a year.

Purifier for dust + dust mite allergies?
Don't know if you caught this in the sub's wiki, but... Dust mites can be controlled by reducing relative humidity (RH) to 50% (one study suggests 45%). So you'd need a dehumidifier. You may still have higher humidity in bedding, mattresses, pillows, seated furniture, etc. where dust mites could sur

Best Air Purifier Option for Someone with a small room who has bad allergies, sinus problems, and is exposed to tobacco smoke? Winix vs Levoit
Assuming similar build quality, higher CADRs are always better. Of the choices listed, I would tend to go with the Winix A230. The A230 has PlasmaWave, an optional bipolar ionizer. Keep PlasmaWave off if birds are present as it could harm or kill them. (PlasmaWave defaults to being enabled after a p

Thoughts? 1 month, 70hrs week, auto mode. Winix A231
Hmmm. I’d give it another month before replacing. I’ve had mine for about 6 months now. Just checked the filter and I don’t really see any dirt. Do you keep yours on the floor? I recently changed the filter on my purifier that sits on the floor in the same space as the Winix A230 and it was caked in
