I have a regular desk with the vivo desk converter. The combo works out great. I can sit for a meeting and any other time im standing or walking. When I first started from home I just sat all day and I ended uo with extreme back and sciatica pain. The standing desk and walking pad were a life saver.

A standing desk is a standing desk. They're not that different. I just got a $200 Vivo one from Amazon. It goes up. It goes down. It's fine.

That budget sounds realistic honestly. I did a similar office refresh last year and found a VIVO electric standing desk that worked well without breaking the bank. I’d recommend the VIVO Electric Corner L‑Shaped Standing Desk. its solid steel frame, supports ~176–225 lbs, and usually under $500 with good stability for dual-monitor setups.

Get some Vivo sit-stand legs and a table top and DIY one. My desk is 24"x38" in a similarly small room (10x12), works great and leaves a lot of space. If I was building one today, I'd probably go narrower and longer, like 20x45. Motorized legs Manual crank legs
