AmpliFi Alien

I’ve had the AMPLIFI Alien, only for its radio antennas to simply fail on me. Randomly the WiFi just stopped working - and I could only connect to network with the device that was physically touching the router. Replaced it with UDR7 and holy damn - it’s everything I’ve missed with AMPLIFI. Starting

It's way too expensive. The AmpliFi Alien justified its $350 price tag with 16 streams, but the Dream Router 5G Max only offers 6. Given that massive downgrade in spatial streams, a fairer price point would be closer to $300–$350.

i ran into this last month swapping out some amplifi gear. the UniFi Dream Machine Pro would handle your 1gig easily, then add a couple U6 Mesh access points for the wireless backhaul situation. the u6 mesh units have dedicated 5ghz radios that handle mesh links way better than the alien's implement

One of trashes in unifi product. It doesn't support USIM, WIFI 6 nor WIFI 7. GL.iNet with VPN is enough for Site-to-Site network.Come on Unifi. You keep releasing trash products recently. Dream Router 5G Max with 6 streams (<-> 16 streams in AmpliFi Alien Router)

I wished they anounced the Dream Router 7 with 5G. Ironically, that is exactly what the UDR-5G-Max is... and that is the most disappointing aspect about it. The Wi-Fi specs are identical to the UDR7, the only difference I could spot on the technical page was the antenna gain for the different bands
