Look into the SVS Prime Wireless Pro. They are a powered set of bookshelf speakers with streaming/airplay/bluetooth, so you wouldn’t need an amp and would be way too use with a computer or TV. For desktop, powered makes a lot of sense. Kali, kef, jbl, and svs all make some great powered speakers that would easily fit in your budget. Personally Im running the svs prime wireless pros, but there are plenty of options that would sound great for your needs.

Can attest to this! SVS Prime Wireless Pros are basically Edifiers on steroids when I last auditioned them.
