Aye man, it is your money at the end of the day, but imo getting a whole vertical 2 is OD when youre only running/strength training and not using the maps at all. A Suunto run would probably suit you better. With that one you get access to actual music controls and offline play on your watch too

I have a Suunto Race, and I had ditched it awhile ago, but recently put it back on to see if I wanted to get the Vertical 2. It’s been a week, and I just can't justify the Vertical 2. Too much about the race bugs me, but you're right, it really is a beautiful watch. Shame really.

I don't see how you'll benefit from a Suunto Vertical 2, which is a massive watch. Also, for the money they are asking for it, you can get a far better watch from a competitor, which would fit your build much better, too.
