Vertical 2 techs specs

It's simply what the market wants. People are accustomed to AMOLED displays - they're coming from Apple/Google watches and they appreciate the visual quality, even if it means sacrificing battery life during sports activities. Most users aren't familiar with MIP technology, and when they encounter s

Vertical 2

I have a Fenix 8 and a vertical 2 and here is what i think. Sleep tracking on the Suunto doesn't work for me. Sitting around and watch tv in the evening is considered sleeping with Suunto. Therefore a lot of metrics are not right since i sleep much longer on the watch than i really do. For hiking i

So many new watches. Which watch is best for backpacking?

I got the Suunto Vertical at the beginning of this summer. I was hoping it would replace the navigation apps I use on my phone for maps and routes. I have found the Vertical pretty disappointing. All of my trips are in the US. All of my physical maps and guides are in feet. Suunto maps only do conto

Apex 5?

Suunto Vertical 2 can do 65 hours with max GPS accuracy (dual-band) and AMOLED display, while using maps and navigation. So that can be done. But that is a bit larger watch. Personally, I wouldn't buy a watch if it had specs you mentioned. I need longer battery runtime in more accurate GPS modes.

Froze mid run

Thanks for this! I have had the exact same experience, but instead of help, most on this forum will defend Suunto and tell you “this has never happened to me in ‘X’ years.” People in my running group have purchased Suunto watches because of my recommendations. I feel terrible when they complain to m

Coros vertix 3?

The gap is incredibly close though and with the Vertical 2 data above over 2 days gps time. I am not an AMOLED diehard, I use a Nomad myself but having owned a 51mm Garmin Epix since 2023 no one is really needing to worry about battery life with Vertix size watches, regardless of display type from e

Best watch for Ironman training?

I currently own a Garmin 255 and a Suunto Race S. Before that, I had a Garmin 735, which I used for my two Ironman triathlons. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think a high-end watch is necessary to prepare for and compete in an Ironman. First of all, many people want to record the en

How to enter a POI on the watch directly? Or in the iOS app using coordinates?

My instructions were for the current Race and Vertical series which all have on-watch topo maps. The PP9 does not. But you can still save your current location as a POI in the watch. It's also my understanding that there is some form of pan and zoom, but without the built-in maps it's not going to b

About the T-Rex Ultra 2 navigation. Good things but also critical issues

This is a completely different thing u/slimak131 (It's an issue that needs to be solved but it's something in a very concrete situation, not a general faulty thing for the whole navigation like the one I was posting). Also, believe me, the POI thing is FAR superior in Amazfit. Suunto does not even h
