Decided to switch from Suunto 9 Baro after 6 years to Vertical 2, and I really miss the MIP screen.

I think Suunto made a real misstep with the Vertical 2 in giving it the same screen as the Race 2. The original Race and Vertical had distinct and separate identities and niches. But the Vertical 2 and Race 2 lack that clear separation in my opinion. Turning the Vertical 2 into a large Race S with w

Vertical 2 or Fenix 8

I came from a Fenix 8 and switched to a Suunto Vertical 2, and I loved the aesthetics, the watch faces, the interface, but as others have mentioned, it didn't detect how many times I woke up during the night, I couldn't see my oxygen levels at night, and some other metrics were missing. Now that I

Nylon so much better fit.

It would look a lot better if Suunto would decide to go for a 26mm band on these watches. The 22 mm looks too small and makes the watch look too large, especially on the vertical

Vertical 2

I have a Fenix 8 and a vertical 2 and here is what i think. Sleep tracking on the Suunto doesn't work for me. Sitting around and watch tv in the evening is considered sleeping with Suunto. Therefore a lot of metrics are not right since i sleep much longer on the watch than i really do. For hiking i

Suunto Race 2 & Vertical 2

How long have you spent with the Garmin? The more used to Garmin you are, the more frustrating you'll find the Suunto software. Garmin may not look the prettiest but the functionality and completeness of the software is far ahead of Suunto. For running it might not matter as much since you're not lo

Like the look of the Vertical 2 but is the software really that bad ?

I really liked the Suunto Race 2 but the data discrepancies between the watch and the app were glaring and frustrating. Suunto seems to spend all their time making gorgeous watches with no time invested in the software or data integrity. They also never engage the community or seem to have any beta

Froze mid run

Thanks for this! I have had the exact same experience, but instead of help, most on this forum will defend Suunto and tell you “this has never happened to me in ‘X’ years.” People in my running group have purchased Suunto watches because of my recommendations. I feel terrible when they complain to m

Tried Pace Pro--returned...keeping AWU3 for now

Do not go there, Suunto has almost as many bugs as Amazfit. Hardware is great, but software is 10 years behind. I mostly use Apple WU3, but I have tried Garmin (FR965, Venu 2, Venu 3, Venu 4), Coros (Pace 3, Pace 4), Suunto (Vertical 2, Run) and Amazfit (Balance, Balance 2, Helio Strap, Helio Ring).

Suunto Vertical Causing Cuts

This is indeed an issue for some of us. I have thin wrists and a large ulna bone bump (perhaps like you) and the Vertical's lugs really do dig in. Others might suggest moving it farther up the wrist, but that's impossible as it simply slides back down no matter how tightly it is strapped (and too ti

Strap width

100% Agree. - The thing about C2U or T-Rex 3/Pro is that those watches are somehow fat/bulky and the 22mm strap is not enough. 24mm is better. But the 24mm is not Garmin "standard" and I think Amazfit is using the 22mm straps because of this. - Coros uses 24mm in their Apex 4/ Nomad watches. Suunto
