I used Garmin for 8 yrs, most of them re Instinct. My last device was Crossover Amoled. The physical hand broke so I sold it. I just bought Suunto Vertical 2 and here are my thougts. Vertical 2 screen is big and easy to read. The buid quality is superb. There are much less watch faces on Suunto and

Please don't make it a smartwatch like some competitors, keep it a product for outdoor enthusiasts. I am with Suunto for reliability and simplicity in the mountains. Improve wrist HR, articulate the bezel on the vertical like the race, keep the Vertical 2 made in Finland.

I just replaced my fenix 7x with a vertical 2 and must say so far it's fine. I really miss Garmin Pay but on the other hand I wanted to quit paying with an American payment provider anyway. Sleep tracking is okay for me, somewhat different then Garmin but neither are perfectly accurate anyway. I use

Dont even try with "smartwatches" for sport activties, they are very bad at it, not to mention the battery. Had samsung watch 7, pure garbage GPS acuracy, HR sometimes good sometimes bad. But the battery , damn was that awfull, 2 days maximum. If you want an accurate HR you need to use a belt anyway

It's preference really, Coros and Suunto are so close to each other about how everything works. Training and sports are the main focus for both. Suunto just has much more experience and that shows in features. Just returned from Coros Apex 4 back to Vertical 2. And it wasn't cause Coros was bad, I j

bassically any race or vertical model will be upgrade here soo it comes down to if you want MIP screen on vertical 1 or you want better HR sensor and AMOLED of Vertical 2, if you want a rotate button then its Race 1 or 2, main difference is in better HR sensor with race 2. bassically the rest is abo

Yep. But how reliable is sleep tracking really? I think you have to measure brainwaves for a good read. No watch does that π As for the heart rate accuracy: Suunto is okay, especially Race 2 and Vertical 2. My readings are fine and useable. If one needs really accurate measurements: go for a heart r

Well, I used the Race 2 for a month after coming from a Coros Pace 3. So: in terms of hardware, or hardware design, the improvement was massive β the Race 2 feels industrial, modern, robust, yet simple and elegant. Itβs a 10β0 win over the Pace 3. The app: I really like the Coros app and its simplic

Peak 5 is a very old watch. If you look at the more recent Suunto watches even the most basic Race S easily handles a 100k and even a 100 miler. It lasts 30 hours in the most accurate GPS mode with dual-band GPS, navigation, and maps. And Suunto Race 2 and Vertical 2 provide 55/65 hours in the most

I went from Epix 2 Pro to Vertical 2. So far not regretting it. I sometimes miss the body battery, Suunto resources is pure garbage. Also things are more automated in Garmin land. Heart rate zone detection, analysis of your health stats, etc. If always look at the resting heart rate and HRV, so I ca
