What app/device do you use to track yourself on a marathon/long race? Strava was not accurate on my last race.
Strava is an app, not a device. Your phone determines your gps accuracy to the largest extent. Some phones really suck. If you're going to run on the road, get a dedicated device like a garmin, suunto, polar or coros watch. Running in cities with gps sucks. Tall buildings = dodgy signal. Better off

Runners should already check Coros instead of Amazfit
TRex is also all plastic, thin metal on top is cosmetic only. I didn't mention the T-Rex, but the $1100 Fenix 8 is also steel or titanium sandwiched between a polycarbonate body. 1.2 screen is better than 1.5 screen if they show the same information You can display more information comfortably on a

Optimizing my Vertical 2
You drop about 5% battery per day on the Vertical 2 and Race 2 when used in typical smartwatch mode. Give or take a few percentage points based on what settings you have, how often you use the watch, and battery differences between the two models. That battery drain works out pretty close to Suunto'

Froze mid run
I used Race Titanium (the same model) for almost a year and have never had this issue, despite running several multi-hour ultramarathons with it. Does it have the latest software? You should contact support, which you can do via chat. Update: it looks like there is one similar report in Suunto Forum

Leaving Garmin after 10 years (FR955 firmware fail). Suunto Race S or Coros Pace Pro?
I'm a long time Garmin user on holiday in Italy at the moment and my Forerunner 945 just died so I looked around for a replacement. The Suunto Race 2 titanium is less than half the price of a FR 970. I have a number of complaints about Garmin and how they treat customers so I thought it would be a g

Welcome!
I switched from the Apple Watch Ultra to a proper sports watch as well, so maybe my experience helps. I had the Apple Watch Ultra a few times and kept selling it again. For me, it was just too much “smartwatch” and not enough sport. Too many notifications, too many menus, too much stuff I simply don

My path to Suunto - my way to perfect sport watch

Suunto Race 2 Titanium black vs Garmin Epix pro 47mm
Plus the Suunto is basically half the price for all the same features - battery life being one of the big ones I looked for. Battery life - even on full multi-system GPS tracking, no battery saving - is amazingly good in the Race. Other watches like the Garmin or Coros have similar great battery lif

Race 2 worth it despite the known issues?
I upgraded from a 9 Peak to the Race 2 with an upcoming ultramarathon in mind. The battery on my old watch wouldn't last long enough for the race and I didn't want to hassle with a battery pack in the aid stations. And I figured it would be a nice reward for all the training, regardless of how the a
