What “hobby” level dive computer would you recommend? Info below
The most important part of a computer is its algorithm. You want a computer that runs a modern Buhlmann algorithm with custom gradient factors (GF) to adjust conservatism. Many computers these days still use outdated bubble models or worse (looking at you Suunto) secret proprietary models. I’m a tes

Why is Suunto so disliked?
Suunto Ocean is great. Very usable and great display. Superb battery life. I had an EON core previously. Also tried the Apple and oceanic which functionally was OK (but not good enough to stick with and deal with Apple Watch and oceanic overhead).

Dive Computer help... Overspending!
I’ll play devil’s advocate! I’m a test diver for a scuba magazine, and have gotten to dive a lot of computers. The Suunto Ocean is a joy to dive; the i330r is…not. I’d definitely swap them if it were me. The price point and marketing for the i330r make it really appealing to new divers, but it’s not

Looking for a dive computer with 3D dive mapping + Subsurface compatibility
Mapping: only the Suunto Ocean, Nautic, and Nautic S. Subsurface and Shearwater: yes, works fine. This is on their website: https://subsurface-divelog.org/supported-dive-computers/ Subsurface & Suunto: only is an issue for this new batch of computers, but it is supposedly being worked on, slowly. I

Looking for a dive computer for recreational diving that won’t break bank.
Last week I compared a lot of brands, features, and functions. At the end I had two winner: Shearwater Teric: for above €1000. Suunto Ocean: Under €1000 I decided to go with Sunto Ocean since it has all the basic features of a dive computer, and supports multi-gas, nitrox (not more advanced tec mixe

What dive computer should I buy?
The transmitter screws into a port on your regulator’s first stage, same as the hose for your SPG does. While you can technically attach a transmitter to rental regs, I don’t recommend it. If you plan to dive with AI, you really need your own reg set. Many dive ops won’t want you to remove plugs fro

Suunto Ocean vs Garmin G2
I've recently bought Ocean. I haven't gone diving with it yet, but the screen is beautiful and I really like the overall build quality of the computer. There's nothing else in this price range that offers the same set of features. Assuming that you're looking for a smartwatch-like computer. The most

Apple Watch Ultra 2 with Oceanic+ switched to snorkel mode mid dive at 20m
We’re on the same page. I was looking for convenience when doing casual fun dives. Not convenient at all. This happened 4 hours ago. I’ve already ordered a Suunto Ocean that does almost everything an Apple Watch does above the water. Anybody want to buy a mint condition AWU2?

Looking for new Dive Computer
Try a Suunto Ocean as an alternative. Very nice UI; air integration (don't know if you have a tank pod already); compact; very bright screen. And you keep the same Suunto app. I wanted something smaller but readable; wanted to get away from the chunky forearm computers.

Help me decide: Shearwater Peregrine vs Peregrine TX vs Suunto Ocean
Do you own your own regs and if so, do you plan to buy a transmitter? Not much use in splurging for the air integration if you don’t plan to use it. If you like the watch form of the Suunto Ocean, the Shearwater Tern (and Tern TX) is identical to the Peregrine but comes in wristwatch form and has a
