9 Peak Pro

The Peak is an outdated model with ancient technology. As a longtime Suunto user, I honestly couldn't recommend the 9 Peak Pro to anyone with good intentions.

Step counting and calories counting in general is not a good thing on all sportwatches. But Suunto is in those two really terrible. My Suunto 9 Peak Pro counts alway more. The pcean is relatively new, but you will found many of this reviews on that topic here.

My old peak pro couldn't register awake times. I'm a restless sleeper and I get up a lot at night. Suunto frequently registered it as 0min awake. If it can't pick up periods of wakefulness, the data is not directionally correct IMO

Swimming is hard on any HR tracking watch. Best practice is watch should be well clear of the wrist joint, an inch up and well fitted - snug, not lose, but comfortable, enough. Those resolved the off HR data your seeing for me with my 9PP. Stroke detection and turn detection... Phewee those h

Either way, the problem will persist. When new it is perfect, after a few months, in my case 4-6, the ordeal with incorrect monitoring begins again. 9PP pool swimmer, for pool laps/strokes Apple watch is the top choice. Suunto is not a choice.

Hey did you figure this out? I just got my 9PP and have been using Cronometer for years. Very disappointed to find Suunto only syncs training calories and not any other daily calories.
