I'm not sure you'll be able to bypass safety rules as an ADA disability accommodation. Disability accommodations are meant to allow you to do your job as if you're not disabled; they don't allow you to alter requirements of your job. I'm guessing your management will say that following safety rules

Anker soundcore v20i They hook around the ear and are open ear so they don't block out environmental sounds. Not ideal for vacuuming but that's been their only drawback for me

I did this for about 6 hours a day for the better part of a year. I used shokz and there are other good alternatives that don't block ambient sounds like Tozo Earrings or SoundCore V20i. For me the key was to not drown out the T, but play nature sounds at just below the volume of the T. This helped

FWIW, there are open air traditional headphones that also allow you to hear ambient sounds. I just got a pair, Anker Soundcore v20i, and can hear what's around me, plus they're pretty decent headphones and fairly secure as they have adjustable rubberized hooks that go around the tops of your ears.
