It depends on what kind of noise you want to block out and what your budget is. My budget is relatively low so no Bose headphones for me. Working in an office with an EXTREMELY loud coworker, the Anker Space Q45 has performed the best. On a plane, the Sony XM4 is my go-to.

You can get Soundcore headphones for much cheaper than Bose. From what I've seen, the Soundcore Life Q30, and Soundcore Space Q45 have great performing active noise cancelling. I have the Space Q45 as well as the Space Q30 in ear. The Q45's are wonderful, my favorite headphones with, for me, excellent noise canceling. I've tired of earbuds but have no complaints about the Q30's.
