4NC in my opinion. There are upgrades to the Liberty 5, but I don't think they're monumental. 4NC work great and sound good There are new Liberty 5s coming out soon that got leaked. Go for the Liberty 5 NC if you can stretch the budget. The ANC, build quality, and mics on the Liberty series are always a noticeable step up from the R-series (even though the R50i is great for its price bracket). Btw, if you're ordering these online soon, definitely make sure your shopping account
