For games and movies I use the Sony A5000 and the Sony SA-SW3. It thumps and has great range. It can handle anything I to row at it. I got Samsung Q990D which is a little superior in another room. However, the Sony stuff really all pairs great together.

The theater bar 8 is absolutely sick and is worth the grand. But the HTA3000 is a good sound bar too if you wanted to take the Sony route

I have the HT-A5000 and had the HT-A7000. I would highly suggest at least the SW3 subwoofer for sure. It's worth the investment.

I replaced my SW3 with the SW7. Room is 4x4m and the SW3 was just too powerful. There was a great rumble and I loved it but the neighbors wouldn't have appreciated it. Always ended up having it on a very low level. Replaced it with the SW7 and while there is a noticeable difference, it suits perfect

I would say it’s worth it, but it depends if it hurts your wallet or not. For the soundbar, I would look at something that is at least 5.1, like the Sony HT-A5000.
