Which Sennheiser headphone would you actually recommend to a newbie?

If a friend asked me which Sennheiser headphone to buy first, it would really depend on the type of headphone he or she was looking for. Here’s what I’d recommend depending on the person/buyer: Open-back on a tighter budget → HD 560S, no question. At the refurbished price especially, it’s one of the

No difference in sound quality between my new Fiio M21 and my $29 TRN black pearl dac

Can and should are two different theories. Of course filter settings and output stages can make a difference, but ultimately if the DAC chips are relatively the same and there are no esoteric power requirements or weird impedance on the IEMS, they should sound the same as long as similar filters (EG

Open back recommendations

By far one of the best open back headphones. I've got my original 1997 Sennheiser HD-600, which this listing is a derivative of (modified HD-650 to be precise). Not the easiest to drive, but well worth it. https://drop.com/buy/massdrop-sennheiser-hd6xx#signupv2

HD800S vs HDB630: Can wireless hang?

Tubes do help the HD 800 S, it becomes more "HD 650-like" by adding some warmth and taking the edge off in the treble. Though it's a much "Softer" presentation than the HD 650 below 4kHz, as shown below. Though, the maintenance needed to upkeep tube amps can be annoying if you're used to solidstate.

Getting rid of my ATCs and would like advice on my next setup

totally get it - atcs in an apartment is overkill even if they sound incredible. since you're used to that level of detail, you'll want something that still translates well. i'd check the Neumann KH 120 II monitors, they're right in your range and give you that surgical precision without the price t

Momentum 4's or HDB 630

I’d say if you’re one of the vast majority of people that want headphones but under the Sennheiser brand, Momentum 4’s is the way to go. But if you’re one of those who actually really cares about sound quality more than anything in the world? HDB 630. I own the 630, it’s the most versatile headphone

Best beginner audiophile headset setup?

For a beginner you might want to consider one of the Sennheiser HD6x0 varieties. You might want to consider the venerable HD650/HD6XX. It can be bought for a reasonable price and will serve you well even if you decide to invest in more headphones or earphones. Of course, the HD600 is an option. I st

Looking for a Step-Up from ROG Kithara (Keeping the K7 Dac Amp)

i've been down this rabbit hole. the natural step up from Kithara is the Sennheiser HD 600 or 6XX. they keep that open-back soundstage but add more detail and smoother mids. your K7 drives them easily. Sennheiser HD 600 is the classic for a reason - super comfortable for long sessions. just know the

Need Recommendation between two earbuds for Gaming/Streaming

If your use case is trying to hear audio cues and be able to pinpoint locations I would recommend you stay away from earbuds as they are very narrow and don’t provide a good distinction as to where someone would be look at sennheiser over ears preferable hd 600 or equivalent I have them and they are

Would you rather use the HD 800 S or the HD 600?

You mean, the difference between the HD 800 S and the HD 800 is minimal? Obviously, I wouldn't know, but let me just copy what I said earlier: "Apparently, it's not just that the HD 800 S fixed the 6 kHz peak (as in, simply brought it down to a normal amount), but also resonance, so it should sound
