Looking to upgrade from the M50Xs and have been eyeing the HD599s yay or nay?

I’ve used both, and this is one of those upgrades that’s less about “better” and more about “different vibe.” Coming from the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, the first thing you’ll notice with the Sennheiser HD 599 is how open everything feels. It’s not just marketing — sounds actually feel like they’re co

Not the most high tech...

I just have some channels in telegram with a lot of music in highest digital quality. I tried to play it on my phone which supports default 16/44.1 1200 kbps high res audio through neutron player (it's only 10 bucks, it works great on phones, i used hacked version for free). But when i bought my ast

Is the HD 550 an upgrade over HD 58x and HD 599

The 550 is an excellent headphone and since I own it, I barely used my HD 650. They are really close and I like the soundstage of the 550 more. It is way easier to Drive also. Absolute worth it as HD 599 Upgrade.

What do you use to listen to jazz?

I'm an aspiring jazz bassist, so listening to the double is vital for me. I use my Sennheiser HD 599. The bass is audible without turning the volume up. No earphone comes close. The HD 599s are also open-back, meaning that a bit of sound would leak outside and inside, but it allows for a bigger soun

Advice on headphones for gaming and music listening

You’re welcome! I personally find the HD 599 slightly more comfortable than the 560S but that’s always a bit subjective. It clamps less for me out of the box. Over time, though, all headphones become more comfortable once the pads wear in and you get used to them etc. Open-back usually gives you a w

HD 550 a good replacement for HD 598 sr for gaming?

No, i have tried the hd 490 pro many times thought which people say are the hd 560s but with a bit of an upgrade in audio and much more upgrade in comfort. They're boring vs my hd 598. they have good soundstage and imaging with a flat response, very analytical? Very good for FPS but it looses everyt

new to quality headphones pls help

Yea just means special edition. Btw I forgot to mention the HD 599 has a impedance of 50, which is very low, so basically you don’t have to worry about needing a dedicated dac/amp in order to drive them, you can basically plug them into anything and you shouldn’t run into problems, when a headphone
