I'm not hearing things

So I've been playing with my friend and it's happening quite a lot that I'm not hearing crows or dogs getting set off while my friend is. Does anyone have recommendations for headphones I could switch to? I'm currently using Sennheiser HD 599 SE.

I've tried just turning volume up to see if that

How would you guys describe the sound of the GW100x?

I had the GW100(1st gen) and currently own the GW100(2nd gen). They remind me a lot of the Hemp's sound. They have way more bass than the SR60e and are slightly more laid back. Amazing for movies. I have HD599 and they are the worst headphones out of all that I own. Other than comfort, they're super

Tried yet another hd 599se - first pair in 2026, distorts during bass as per usual.

I feel like it. I used to use razer electra headsets for my pc - then in 2016 experienced the hd 598 - amazing, no issues, 10 years later, i'm struggling to replace them with NEW headphones that do the SAME job. The hd 490 pro is the one headphone everyone tries brainwashing you to think is "the one

Can someone explain EQ? Using soundblaster EQ there's a slider pre 31hz, is this "preamp"? and how's it work

Not sure, everything seems to be downvoted these days. But yeah, i do love the hd 598 i have, it's super weird though, reading reviews on the 598 also shows similar THD to the hd 599 but my hd 598 and a preowned pair i got off ebay, don't distort like the hd 599 at all. I have tried a few of sennhei

HD 599 SE and Philips X2HR

I have the HD 599 SEs and don’t find them very "open” (was expecting more sound stage from open backs). I find myself choosing my closed backs instead.

Okay - Another pair of hd 599 with distortion, this time with video

Yeah i keep hearing this too - sadly i've tried at least 6 pairs in the UK. And this pair as mentioned was from thoman, standard hd 599. Really sad that i'm going to have to move away from my sennheiser wide soundstage +warmth. Tried the hd 490 pro and they're great but their build with the plastic

The HD 599 SE has poor audio quality

EDIT: Asked Amazon for a replacement, the newer HD 599SEs are much better. I think the older one had a problem, the higher frequencies were far too boosted. The HD 599SE still has a bit of a boost in the higher frequencies, and the lower notes are slightly recessed, which is why I still prefer the s

Got HD 599 SE, the sound feels compressed, muffled, rumbling, is this normal?

I have Komplete Audio 1 interface, so it must be the headphones fault is my guess.

The sound has a muffled, rumbling feel to it which sounds very cheap, I'm not sure if it's because of the low bass or earpads or something else, but it's there, and I'm not sure why.
I'm not well versed in audiop
