Is it still a good idea to buy the QC Ultra headphones (Gen 1) right now?

Just bought QC Ultra (Lunar Blue - love the color!). I got it from a local online store here in Poland for $194, as it was open box customer return. However they are new in mint condition. I’ve used them for just two days, but I already absolutely love them. I also have old Bose QC 25 and Ultra are

I am stuck on the pick...

The HD 599, despite being the highest number (and most unique and cool looking, IMO), are the ones I’d recommend the least. I have a pair: they’re fine, but they were tuned to sound more like Bose and have a bass boost, highs cut, and blur to their sound that won’t impress you. It’s kind of got the

new to quality headphones pls help

The 599 is old school 500 series Sennheiser. Very warm with lack of detail. It's good for low quality harsh recordings. The 560S is a massively more performant headphones with a close to reference sound and much more extended into the sub-bass, but it will sound painful on bad quality recordings

HD560s vs HD599 thoughts and questions!

I find the 599 to be significantly warmer, and darker than the HD 560S. They are basically complete opposites for me in terms of sound. The ear pads should be identical, but it's possible for them to be shaped slightly different from the factory. Also, the headbands are plastic, if the 599 is too lo

599 vs 660S2

While I would recommend the HD 550, HD 600 or HD 650 first, the HD 660S2 is definitely an improvement over the HD 599. The 660S2 will be more similar to what you are used to(warm, dark and relaxed) but it "Cleans everything up" so to speak. So you'll hopefully like it a lot :)

I am stuck on the pick...

If you are hesitant about paying the extra price for the HD 600 and HD 650, then do not feel pressure to buy them, headphones are not worth this worry and stress. The HD 550 will likely give you much of what they offer. Compared to the HD 600 and 650, the HD 550 is a great headphone. It has better b

Headphones becoming more dark and dull with time?

Yeah, that could be the case. I did go back to my HD 599 and they were even more dark and veiled of course. I guess I just have a feeling the difference was larger back then.

HD599 SE or HD560s?

If you can stretch to it when on sale go HD 550 I went from 599 to 550. What a difference. The 599 sound wrong to me know when I switch back.

Prefer the sound of HD599 over Arya Organics

So you don't like Arya Organic. I get you. Personally, I don't like the HD599. It sounds muffled and veiled to my ear. As far as Sennheiser goes, I much prefer the HD6X0 varieties over the HD5X0 varieties, especially with OTL tube amps. To my ear the Arya Organic sound amazing. Its my favorite headp
