Ars Technica: "Panasonic, the former plasma king, will no longer make its own TVs"

For OLED the brand of the housing basically doesn’t matter - panel manufacturer determines 90% of the visual quality of the display. This is false if there's any sort of post-processing done, which 99% of users will enable. Sony's is the best in the business. Watching 1080p content on a Sony A95L is

RTINGS: Revamping Our Membership Program

I was on RTINGS just yesterday, comparing the matte screen finish of the Samsung G81SF to their S95F TV, which I saw at the store and instantly fell in love with. It told me everything I needed to know and more. Plus I’ve also spent some time on there just reading stuff. So sad I can’t do that now.

What Black Friday deal actually surprised you this year?

Went with the Samsung 77" S95F. Reviews are more or less uniformly incredible.

OLED vs Glossy Mini-LED — My Experience After Owning and Returning Multiple OLED Monitors (Version 2)

I think I said it in your other post too, but if you get an S95F in there, it would blow any MiniLED out of the water. Heck, maybe even an S90F. You liked your QN90C better than an LG C series because OLED TVs below 55" behave a lot closer to monitors in terms of brightness than their larger variant

I keep seeing people recommending the OLED LG’s to accompany the Pro….

According to RTings the Samsung S90F are S95F are superior to the LG C5 and G5 respectively. Only thing about Samsungs they don’t have Dolby Vision so if you plan to use it for TV or movies on top of gaming, LG would be better. Then apparently the Sony Bravia 8 is not as bright as the LG or Samsungs

I feel like I'm going insane here - but I cannot get anything resembling a decent experience with Crimson Desert on XsX. What am I doing wrong?

I've been playing on XSX since day 1 and I reckon it's looked pretty damn good overall. Quality mode HDR On V-sync Off (but I have VRR on my tv) 120Hz On I also turned down particle effects and shake intensity down to 50 and Blur 0 and Depth of Field Off. It might be my Samsung S95F that makes it lo

Static or active HDR - Samsung S95F OLED

Static is much more accurate. HDR is (or, is meant to be) an absolute format, the brightness should appear the same across different displays. The data for this is encoded in the HDR signal you receive (from your console or other media source). The display then has to account for its own capabilitie

Great new comparison video by HDTV Test

A lot of that test was super subjective and depends on your viewing area. The S95F absolutely freaking sucks in a lit living room because the screen turns purple and the blacks are basically gone. You lose a bunch of the benefits of OLED. Now, I have a QD-OLED in my office for gaming, and I have the

2025 TCL QM8K Matched My $30K Monitor - Stop the FOMO

Plasma was already on its way out even by like 2010 (Their peak of sales) all manufacturers had stopped selling them by 2014 and HDR10 wasn't even established as a standard until 2015 let alone HDR content being prevalent. I think plasma would have died regardless of HDR but it probably made the dec

Bought a Pro. Throw out your TV recommendations!

Samsung S95F, particularly if you have a room with windows/bright light. To all intents and purposes, it virtually eliminates any reflections, absolute godsend in my four-windowed living room. And it’s also an excellent gaming TV anyway.
