PSA: On LG TVs, set your Dynamic Tone Mapping to HGIG to properly display Switch 2 HDR
Apparently, on some TVs, they disable 1440p when you turn game mode on. Like my Samsung S90D 😒

I am trying to pick a TV and I feel like I am going crazy
Every other modern TV type is “trash” and you’re apparently a bad person for even considering them. this is FALSE there is becoming this circlejerk that OLED is the best and everything else is shit. OLED is amazing BUT its NOT for everyone/every situation Some Samsung OLEDs blow fuses? (I only saw t

Courts sides with Samsung: decide that TCLpanels are not real QLED, lack color and composition of QLED
Samsung markets its S90D/S90F TVs as premium “QD-OLED” (the good quantum-dot panels with superior colour), but actually ships a random mix of real QD-OLED and cheaper WOLED panels with zero labelling, zero warning in ads, and zero indication on the box. In Australia you only get the real QD-OLED on

FYI: You cant watch YOUR OWN media on YOUR OWN network when Plex is down on LG TVs, even with local auth disabled
Same in Samsung btw I have a s90d and if it cannot connect to their servers it simply ignores any configuration you’d set previously, requiring you to log in

S90d 77” Power Board Failure Update
Every brands have pros and cons, but LG has never had as wide spread an issue as this power board problem on 77” S90 and S95s. When it was time for me to upgrade from my C1 a couple months ago, I was sucked into the “better technology” of the Samsung technologies. Found a 77” S90D from Best Buy that

Recent 2024 price drops have opened pandoras box-- What direction do go in?
For that budget I'd go with the LG C4, an OLED is the only TV for me. I've just upgraded to a C4 from a C9 after 5-1/2 yrs and 14,000 hrs. My C9 still looked great but the recent sale price (65" $1,399) and 5 yr warranty (included at Costco) nudged me to upgrade. I don't find any real faults with th

VRR issues
u/dylanjones039 Oh my God that was frustrating. Well, I tried three different docks that I know work with VRR and I could not get ANY of them to work properly on my 48” LG C1 with a Z1E Ally, an SD OLED or a LeGo S Z1E. It was driving me crazy. I have the UGreen 6-in-1 dock, Valve’s dock for the SD

The 4k subreddit is weird and hates Samsung
I'm a "newcomer" when it comes to oled tvs, I bought a LG C4 and after a few months, I had the opportunity to buy a second tv for another room in my home. I was in love with the LG tv, but after all, I decided to see for myself how good or bad are samsung tvs since I've heard good things about them.
