KDE VR Mode and ordinary stuff you can do with it
The cheapest solution is AR glasses like Rokid Max or Xreal Air. I think Quest 2 could be an option if you want more FOV (but I wouldn't recommend it, due to low pixel density and need to check if WiVRn still supports it)

GPD Win 5 will replace my gaming desktop
Consider AR glasses. Very light. I use Rokid max with gpd win 4 and win max 2. Good enough.

What’s your “I always pack this even though no one else does” travel item?
I've used AR glasses for more than 3 years as a wearable display for my phone/handheld gaming pc/laptop. I have come along to the point I don't even need the laptop anymore, as the glasses make a expansive floating display in front of my eyes that covers up my 83" TV from 10 feet away. I carry them

Anyone else enjoy watching movies on your headset?
If I had an AVP - because that's the only high res OLED panel w HDR/Dolby Vision support. I have giant OLED and projector screen in my house otherwise. I still love my OG Steam Deck bought for $299 and upgraded to 512 gig for $50 especially paired with Rokid Max AR Glasses for a HUGE Dual Sony OLED screens in each eye

Quest 2 versus Quest 3 for movies and flat screen gaming
if its only for Flatscreen games and movies.... go with AR glasses... i own ROKID MAX AR glasses and its amazing, super small, the size of actual glasses really, super comfy... and flat screen movies and games are amazing... it takes the power from the USB-C cable, so no batteries... you can connect

XR Glasses
I have the Rokid Max glasses and couldn't be happier with them. 1200p 120Hz OLED portable wearable monitor. I got them from a secondhand store for £150 absolutely amazing.

If by 'comfort' you mean the glasses screens, then it is fine. I prefer AR glasses to Quest 3 for sure. But to wear Rokid Max for the whole day I had to add some cushion at the nose area and a strap so they sit tight on my head. I have RayNeo Air 4 Pro only for less than a week, but I had to do the
