What keyboard should I buy and should I get new keycaps for it?
HK gaming GK61 HK Gaming is currently in violation of the court order that Skyloong (the actual manufacturer of the real GK61) has won against them. The "HK Gaming GK61" is a shoddy forgery. Do not get it. On top of which that one is optical. That's double red flags. Here are some actually good 60%

Build for silent keyboard
Silent switches trump pretty much every other aspect of the build. I wouldn't worry too much about the acoustic qualities of the boards if you're going to put a real silent switch like that in them. Is that the QMK/VIA version of the RK R65? If so, go with that. If not, those boards both have horrib

Looking for a new gaming keyboard
Linear switches (quiet) Side comment: linear switches are not quieter than tactile, almost all the noise from switches is the impact when the switch bottoms out and again when it rebounds and the return stroke tops out. If you avoid bottoming out, the return stroke will be most of the sound. The sou

Royal Kludge RK R65 QMK/VIA * ($48 with coupon) You can swap the switches in this. https://github.com/ArgentStonecutter/keyboards/blob/main/replacing_switches.md The stock keycaps are opaque, but yo

Wired Replacement Mechanical Keyboard Suggestion?
The new qmk based wired-only RK61, RK R75, and RK R65 are not bad. I haven't tried the RK R87 but the wireless RK R75 was disappointing. Redragon also has some new qmk-based boards, the k717 is small but fierce in a handsome blue jacket, and the k715 and k724 are larger and still decent. The Monsgee
